Week 18 - Jamaica - Yallahs

March 20, 2017

Hey everyone hope you're all doing well,
This week has been grand!  To start off the week we just did a lot of the usual for the welfare project we finished up seeing everyone who has done it previously and most everyone actually has their coops in good working condition.  So that was a bonus didn't have to worry about any of that stuff.
That was mostly on Tuesday and Wednesday and we were also able to see Leo and Marsha on Wednesday and can I just say how awesome their family is they have such great faith!  Thursday was really hectic in fact I can't remember anything about the morning, but we had district meeting later in the afternoon because the Port Antonio Elders came all the way to Yallahs to have it because we had two baptismal interviews and the other Elders had one as well.
Yallahs is doing great and because of the efforts of the members and understanding our Heavenly Fathers will before ours has helped us to see what we can do if we will first ask with faith what the Lord wants us to do here as missionaries.
We have seen incredible success from this and following what He wants.  Just like Moroni in the war chapters instead of just charging out he asked Alma the prophet to pray and see what God thought before they made any moves -  isn't that just incredible!  We can all do this and be like Moroni and understand His will and what He wants for us and I'm not saying it will be easy in fact sometimes it will be very, very hard.  This transfer has truly blessed me and helped me grow, but the growth does not come from idleness.
One of my favorite scriptures says it best -  it is Mosiah 24:13-15.  I invite you to read that and see what you can get out of it to help your life.  That night I went on Trade off with Elder Rowley and Elder Rassmusen.  We were able to go visit some less actives and teach our investigators - the Young family.
I love trade-offs truly helps ya learn a lot on the mission!  On Saturday We had 3 baptisms!  Two of them were Nathaniel and CJ, they are Leo and Marsha's boys and Giovanni, he is a child on record.  The zone leaders even came for our baptism because we needed another suit, but they gave us our transfer calls in person not over the phone so that was way cool.  I have learned that on Wednesday, March 22nd I will be leaving Yallahs and going to Spanish Town to serve with Elder Lewis and Elder Elliot!  I'm very excited for the next step of my mission... but I am going to miss the great people here in Yallahs very much.  Elder Lewis will also be going to BYU next month because he actually goes home April 6th so we will only be in a tri for a couple weeks.  Maybe you'll see him around!  To keep up the great week I said my goodbyes to most of the members at church and we had 55 people at church!  More then we have ever had.  After doing the last branch work I'll have to do we went with the other Elders and ate at Sis. Tamara Watson's house and had some curried chicken and lots of rice and peas!  I'm grateful for the opportunity I've had to serve here in Yallahs, but even more grateful to serve here in Jamaica!  Keep the faith everyone and just remember that your Father in Heaven is always there for you and I'm prayin  for ya.

Week 14 - Jamaica - Yallahs

From: Eric Joseph Call
Dear Momma,
Stop working so much!!!  I love the new furniture it looks soooo nice!  Sounds like when I get home everything is gonna be pretty different huh?  I'm so sorry to hear your sick as well.  I hope you get feeling better soon.  I'm doing very good and am good to go!  Elder Boyer has had some allergy issues but nothing that could stop us!  The work here in Yallahs is going very well and it sucks because of how fast time is going. We are already into the second week of my third transfer!!  Also, Mom that is a lot of writing to do.  I would prefer you to send the recording for your own benefit unless you like writing it up then you can do it if you want.  Have you still been sending it to my missionary friends and the ones here in Jamaica?  I love you very much though mom and just want you to know how grateful I am for my family!
love
Elder Eric Call
Dear pops,
Wow that's awesome how fast the snow went away way cool get back to beast mode and get that bike out!  Here in the mission a rumor is spreading that they might be taking bikes away and just giving us a taxi stipend for when we travel a long ways, but for the most part we would walk.  I think I would like that it would keep me slimmed down!  Sounds like the usual Call house having all the kiddos over -  I love that.  Also it is funny you ask that question because I just spoke this Sunday on Elder Devn Corrnish's talk in Conference titled "you can make it."  I also talked a lot about the Armour of God and Captain Moroni and God's plan will make us all spiritually powerful and have authority.  Sounds like you are all doing well though and I'm very happy to hear that have a great day!

Week 12 - Jamaica - Yallahs

Eric Joseph Call
Dear Mom
Sounds like a crazy week for all of you!
To answer your questions I email Kelsey almost every week and I missed a couple weeks with Bummer but I'm going to do better.  I have not got my garments yet, but soon come hahaha.  Also I will send you the list probably next week.  On that note I'm doing great and have had quite the week here in Yallahs.  I learned I'll be staying with Elder Boyer for my third transfer so that is awesome!  It is pretty rare here in Jamaica to stay with your companion for 3 transfers unless you are off the Island.  I'm very happy to stay here though and can't wait to see what is in store for us here.  I love getting your pictures especially of the Elk that was great!!  Also of Ava and Andrew that is the best also.  I haven't however seen any of The other rugrats, but soon come ya?  I wish you all safe travels to Kentucky sounds like it will be fun!  I flew into the Dallas airport ya know before going to Miami that was were we had lunch with Nicole and Sunny and Dash.  I hope you are very good and doing well and always reading your scriptures at night.  I don't know what I would do without the Book of Mormon the testimonies of the Prophets are just amazing and any one who truly puts themselves into the scriptures could never deny the truth in every word written.  I'll talk to ya next week!
Love Elder Call
